Collectif dress review

Has anyone else found the temptation of online shopping even more difficult to ignore in lockdown? I'm still working from home for the foreseeable future and I must admit between that and not going to any events or seeing people I've been struggling a bit. What better to cheer myself up with than a new dress?

This dress is called the Dolores Hatch Check Doll Dress from Collectif. I'd actually spotted it a while ago but when it went into the recent sale I didn't hesitate.

I like items that can work across seasons and this dress can be worn as a summer dress or layered up for later in the year, like with these snag tights which I am obsessed with!

I love the navy and mustard combination. Mustard is actually one of my fave colours so I already had coordinating items to go with it, I find this limits the amount of new items I buy each year. I try to make that the case whenever buying new items. If I have to source things to make the item work in my wardrobe it's not a smart purchase.

The dress is made from a mid weight fabric. It's not too light so it hangs well and has some stretch to it. I find these wash and wear well. Collectif often have this style of dress in their various prints.

Also the fit of these style of dresses is so flattering, even my lockdown waistline feels nipped in! The fabric stretches without pulling the pattern and it zips up the back (the buttons are faux) so no gaping!

I coordinated my jewellery with the mustard in the dress, my splendette bangles were just the ticket!

One other plus to this dress is that it falls back into shape and needs minimal ironing (I may have mentioned before that I am not a fan!)

What have your favourite lockdown purchases been?

Love Lucy
