Whenever I go to a new place I always research vintage shops, antique centres and charity shops. I love finding something to remind me of my trip that fits into my vintage wardrobe and helping charity shops or small businesses.
On my recent trip to Somerset I paid a visit to the Taunton Antiques Market on Silver Street. Two floors bustling with stalls with everything from furniture to knick knacks. I usually buy brooches when I am away. Brooches are the fridge magnets of my world!
I bought this very simple leaf brooch as it goes with these earrings that I have and it will be very handy in autumn.
I also bought this stretchy bracelet from the same seller, again I had earrings in my collection that matched it. I think they go really well together. The bracelet is glass so it's nice and weighty.
Lastly I got these unusual vintage style earrings. I love the unusual shape and red lucite effect. I am not sure what they are made out of and for £3 it's not really that important to me.

My first bargain was this little lace dress. I think it will look great at winter parties with black tights and heels. It's lined so it will be warm enough in colder weather. It's not really my usual style but I decided to give it a chance.
This jumper is from H&M. It's the softest thing I have ever owned. I actually took this to Scotland on my recent trip and it was so warm and cosy for the cooler evenings. It will look cute with a little black skirt or jeans.
I needed a pair of jeans and to be honest I prefer to buy them second hand because they tend to be broken in. Denim is always more comfortable when it has been worn. These are just a basic pair of slightly flared jeans but I haven't owned a pair like this for years since skinny jeans took over the high street but I do love a slight flare.
I love wearing comfy shirt dresses but as a tall woman finding one long enough is always an issue. This Zara shirt dress fits the bill perfectly as it hits below my knee. I could wear it as a dress or layered up with boots and leggings. It's a great wardrobe staple and will come in handy for casual autumn days when it's too warm for a coat.
Sometimes my thrift hauls are not typical vintage items but are good for casual looks, I think a lot of people have been leaning towards casual if they are working from home as I still am.
